Sung Suho is still grappling with the reality of his father’s legacy and the mysterious crest now imprinted on his palm. The power that comes with it feels overwhelming—alive, almost as if it’s watching him. Every day, the shadows whisper faintly, urging him to take command, but Suho resists, wanting to hold on to the normal life he once knew.

However, the more he tries to ignore it, the stronger the pull becomes. Even in his dreams, dark figures bow before him, awaiting orders.

The Hunter Association detects a sudden mana disturbance—an unregistered gate forming in the heart of Seoul. Unlike normal gates, this one pulses with an eerie darkness, similar to the energy Suho now carries. Alarmed, Association officials rush to contain it, but the gate refuses to stabilize.

Inside the Association headquarters, whispers spread: could this be connected to Sung Jinwoo’s power? The possibility leaves many hunters uneasy, especially the older S-Ranks who remember the Shadow Monarch’s overwhelming presence.

In a shocking turn, as the gate’s energy spikes, shadow soldiers materialize in the city—without Suho summoning them. Citizens panic as these towering figures appear out of nowhere, yet instead of attacking, they form a protective barrier around Suho, shielding him from an unseen threat.

Hunters on the scene are stunned. Only a monarch could control shadows this way, but Suho isn’t trained—so how are they responding to him?

From the edge of the gate, a cloaked figure emerges—an old shadow general from Jinwoo’s army. Recognizing Suho instantly, the figure kneels and addresses him with absolute loyalty. The general brings a chilling warning:

“My lord… the ancient ones are stirring. The balance your father maintained is breaking.”

This cryptic message confirms what Suho feared—his connection to the Shadow Army is not a coincidence. Something older and more dangerous than any gate monster is beginning to awaken.

Chapter 4 closes with a haunting image—inside the unstable gate, a colossal, chained silhouette begins to move. Its eyes burn with ancient rage, and the very air trembles with its awakening. Suho stands frozen, torn between running from his destiny or stepping into the role fate has forced upon him.

The tension in this chapter builds the sense that Solo Leveling: Ragnarok is moving toward a full-scale war—one that will challenge not only Suho’s strength but also his will to accept the title of Shadow Monarch.
